This space favors the gradual, slow-but-sure approach to getting fit for golf. The method that has the best chance to work for the casual, not-in-very-good-shape golfer is a lot different from the plan we would encourage for those to whom fitness is a way of life.
And that last phrase is key. Unless golfing fitness becomes a way of life for the individual, the person is likely doomed to go through the cycle of new program, poor results, frustration, quit, new program, poor results..... and so on.
So we encourage an extremely slow but life-altering plan, and one needs to approach it one step at a time.

Does fitness matter in your golf score?
Fitness does matter in your golf score!
And you can get fit for golf easily and see your score drop!
Golfers are always using their legs, hips, back and shoulders - and those parts are always able to function better when the body is in better shape.
Research shows that those golfers who walk and have not made an effort to strengthen their muscles for walking tend to have a deteriorating swing as they play farther into the 18 holes. Golfers who also work on overall fitness, however, are stronger and can fight off the fatigue that causes the loss of effectiveness as the golfer goes deeper into the round.
Golfers - both men and women - who work on golfing fitness outside of their time on the golf course can expect to see continued efficiency throughout their round. They will be less likely to make mistakes such as failure to transfer weight to the proper leg during the swing.
It is amazing to golfers that the basic fitness needed for the game can be acquired with just a few minutes of basic fitness moves.
