Golfers are always using their legs, hips, back and shoulders - and those parts are always able to function better when the body is in better shape.
Research shows that those golfers who walk and have not made an effort to strengthen their muscles for walking tend to have a deteriorating swing as they play farther into the 18 holes. Golfers who also work on overall fitness, however, are stronger and can fight off the fatigue that causes the loss of effectiveness as the golfer goes deeper into the round.

Golfers - both men and women - who work on golfing fitness outside of their time on the golf course can expect to see continued efficiency throughout their round. They will be less likely to make mistakes such as failure to transfer weight to the proper leg during the swing.
